Look Into Shipping Logistics

DID EBAY SENT ME REAL OR FAKES ?? TESTING EBAY NEW AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE SNEAKER LEGIT CHECK

Another red flag waves in the form ofextra-long ship times, especially on Amazon where third-party sellers don’t see their sales in their bank accounts for fourteen days.

A new vendor with fake merchandise has to maintain their account for at least two weeks, so they’ll schedule shipping time for longer than the Amazon processing time to prevent consumer complaints.

Also look from where the product is shipping. “I don’t want to pick on China, but that’s where most of the counterfeits are coming from,” James Thomson, a former Amazon executive, told .

Sneakers Sell Also Just Not As Much

Although not the largest segment of used shoes on eBay, sneakers and athletic shoes play a large part of the used shoe market. May sellers specialize in athletic shoes only, and this is a niche where you need to do your homework. Some brands and styles that can sell for high prices in used condition include:

  • Asics gel running shoes can sell for over $100 used
  • Hoka One One running shoes can sell for over $85 used
  • Vintage Nike waffle running shoes can sell for over $200
  • Adidas Ultra Boost shoes can sell for over $200 used
  • Nike Air Max 90 Ultra running shoes can sell for over $175
  • Nike VaporMax can sell for over $150

All prices are for used shoes, in good or excellent condition. If you have a teenage boy in the house, who outgrows shoes before they wear out, eBay can be a great place to both buy and sell his shoes. You can buy a great pair of expensive shoes with lots of wear left, and sell shoes your son has outgrown for a great price.

Is It Okay To Buy Fake Shoes

Buying fake or counterfeit shoes is illegal in the U.S and many other countries. So, it is not okay, even though the law is not often enforced.

As of 2020, the counterfeit sneaker market was worth $450 billion. And as stated earlier, there are people whose primary goal is wearing the style, not getting the shoe made initially by the official shoe company.

The most popular knock offs include Nike shoes , Adidas, Yeezy, Balenciaga, Dior, and Gucci shoes.

Wanting a pair of knock-off shoes can be influenced by the cost of the authentic shoe and its availability. Many shoe brands produce a limited number of shoes. And depending on a few factors, such as the brand and the designer, the prices could start at $130 and resale for more.

But, this is not to say that the fake shoe is always cheaper than the original. Depending on the high quality of the knock-off shoe is made and how close to the original shoe it looks, it can sometimes cost more than the original shoes price.

eBay is shooting its shot with sneakerheads today as the company announced it will be offering 0% seller fees on all men’s and women’s athletic sneaker sales over $100. This move solidifies eBay’s place as the new powerhouse of the sneaker resale landscape. But what does that mean for consumers and sellers?

They are the OG sneaker resale company, but over the years their reputation soured in the community as the website was overrun with fake sneakers. This isn’t to say that there aren’t a plethora of reliable sellers and products on the site, there are plenty of great sellers left , but there is certainly reason for skepticism. Modify Your Payment Policies

It is time to unveil your true intention on eBay. Of course, the intention is to sell fakes and get away with it.

Remember, at the starting stage, your policies were attractive, and your policies included stuff such as PayPal as the payment method, free shipping within one to two weeks, etc. All of it will change now as you initiate the plans to sell counterfeits worth tens of dollars for several hundred dollars.

Now that the feedback/reviews are convincing, every potential buyer on your profile thinks youre one of the hottest sellers on eBay. So, you will begin by including in your policies that you do not accept PayPal or credit cards as payment methods. The reason is that PayPal and credit payment methods can reverse transactions whenever buyers complain to eBay.

In place of PayPal and credit card, youll use state that you accept checks or money orders mailed to your P.O Box. And in case youre wondering whether eBay will allow checking, yes, they accept. Everything goes down to the buyer that decides whether to pay through check or use PayPal. But with that convincing rating on your profile, any buyer will accept checking.

Also, some sellers on eBay prefer Cash on Collection so, you should mention in your policies that you do not accept Cash on Collection.

Why Stockx Does Not Sell Fake Sneakers

Im not saying that StockXs verification team is right all the time, after all, they must be checking thousands of sneakers every day, and sometimes they might be having a bad day and let through a couple of fakes. Albeit, the buyer doesnt deserve this StockX does get it right most of the time. Were not sponsored by StockX and thus this isnt a biased review but a company the size of StockX, a market leader, cant afford to deal in fakes because their entire value is dependent on being an authentic marketplace. Therefore, it isnt in StockXs interest to sell you fakes.

Moreover, currently, StockX is the only website where youre getting actual value in terms of prices. We all remember how resellers on E-Bay were known for scamming buyers with outrageous prices and therefore it led to the demise of their sneaker reselling community.

Lastly, StockX isnt perfect. But you dont see posts of people successfully receiving originals from StockX and thats because theres no hype in that. Only when the word Fake is mentioned with StockX, the post travels up your newsfeed. Therefore, its safe to say that 9 times out of 10, StockX gets it absolutely right.

Is Ebay A Safe Place To Shop 7 Tips To Find Real Shoes

We dont often feature shoes sold on eBay, but when we do, its when a style is sold out everywhere else, hard to find, or just plain too cute to pass up.

Just take the perfect Christmas boots we found, for instance they proved to be extremely popular!

eBay is an American multinational e-commerce corporation based in San Jose, California

However, we did notice that along with all the comments that oohed and aahed over the Christmas boots were comments that asked whether its safe to buy shoes off of eBay or not.

To answer the question, yes, eBay is generally safe. To give you further peace of mind, here are 7 things you can do yourself to make your eBay shoe shopping an even more rewarding experience:

How Does The Return Process Work

How To Spot Fake Sneakers | How To Research Nike and Air Jordan Shoes on eBay

If returns are offered on the listing of the item you purchased, the item will first be sent to eBays authentication team. Within two business days of receiving the item, the authenticator will verify the authenticity and condition of the returned item to confirm that it matches the item originally sent to you. In addition, the eBay Authenticity Guarantee tag must be attached to the item and untampered to be eligible for a return. Once verified by our authentication partner, it will be shipped to the seller and a refund will be processed. The sellers return policy determines whether you or the seller pays for shipping costs back to the authenticator.

How Do You Deal With Fakes

Although there are plenty of fakes on the market, there are also plenty of resources that will educate you on fakes and how to spot the differences.

As a buyer, you can ask for detailed, tagged pictures and compare them to the numerous tutorials on YouTube or on sneaker forums that will give you a good idea of whether theyre authentic or not.

Also, if its a new release, only deal with people who include the receipt from the store that they purchased. That way youll know theyre real and also if its your intention to turn around and resell them, then you can prove to buyers theyre the real deal as well.

Another issue when dealing with fakes is selling authentic shoes but having the buyer try to claim that theyre fake. This can be solved by including a receipt as mentioned previously, or you can take detailed pictures as youre shipping to prove that you are in fact shipping authentic shoes.

Be sure to include tracking with signature required and insurance so the buyer also cannot claim that he or she never got the kicks.

How Do You Manage Inventory

The short answer is I dont I try and sell each pair as quickly as I buy them!

When selling shoes, it can be easy to amass a bulky collection that you have to keep somewhere. To avoid that, I focus on brand new releases or shoes that are really hot classics I know will sell quickly.

This strategy translated into less headache and hassle storing and tracking the inventory, and also let me turn my cash over to reinvest in the next flip faster.

Rough Estimate Of The Number Of Openly Fake Jordans Sold On Ebay In ...

    wizzlesticks

I recently purchased some brand new Air Jordan 1s from eBay Australia using their ‘Authenticity Guarantee’. There are a lot of these types of sneakers being sold on the second hand market, which is why I suppose eBay has implemented the program to a select range of products. Unfortunately I was fooled into believing my eBay purchase was safe.

The sneakers I got were completely and totally fake. Since I spent more than $300, of course I wanted to verify myself whether the sneakers were legit. Luckily there are lots of videos and online resources to do this. Out of all the things I checked they all raised red flags for being fake. I contacted eBay about it and they have sided with the seller since they said their authenticity was verified by a third party.

When I checked their terms and conditions to find out who this third party is, there was no mention of the company. How it works is that the seller ships to the ‘authenticator’, then the ‘authenticator’ ships to me. But who knows where or who this is done by. Through my research, I’ve also read that they rip the tags off shoes they believe to be fake, and apparently this has happened to genuine sellers.

Buyer Claims The Item Wasnt Received

PayPal Seller Protection exists to help sellers trade confidently on eBay. In order for it to work, sellers must provide proof of item delivery. If the shipped item was sold for under $750, delivery notification is adequate proof. If the item is sold for more than $750 the item must have signature delivery proof. Experienced scammers know this and may take advantage of sellers that are unaware of this additional burden of proof requirement. They can claim the item was not received, claim a refund and make off with the expensive item.

Ebay Offering Chance To Win Rare Sneakers

Nike Sues Counterfeit Sellers, Blames Amazon & Ebay for Allowing Fakes Shoes To Be Sold!

By Tyler Shultz | Friday, September 17, 2021

Inspired by eBays sneaker buying and reselling community, the website is launching Inside Drop, an exclusive opportunity for sneakerheads to obtain rare pairs of shoes.

Inside Drop is eBays way of celebrating sneakerheads, a community of buyers and resellers that use online retailers like eBay to buy or sell the latest, rarest and fan-favorite styles of shoes. With online drops becoming the norm for sneakers, websites like eBay are often the only places to turn to in order to get a favorite or long sought-after pair of shoes.

Sneaker collecting is about more than just buying new kicks. It’s about having connections with the community to track down that must-have pair for which you’ve been tirelessly searching or helping someone else add to their collection by selling a pair from yours, Garry Thaniel, general manager of sneakers at eBay, said.

There will be 25 pairs of exclusive sneakers that will be available, including the Nike Air Max 1 Parra Friends & Family, Air Jordan 1 Fragment High Friends & Family, Air Jordan 5 Paris Saint-Germain Friends & Family, and the Adidas x Pharrell NMD Human Race Trail Friends & Family with limited edition text adorning the shoes.

    Be Smart About Payment Options

eBay sellers nowadays offer numerous payment options, but as much as possible, stick to using PayPal or your credit card through PayPal.

This way, youre completely protected against fraud through PayPals Purchase Protection and eBays money-back guarantee.

If you find an amazing shoe deal from a seller who doesnt accept PayPal, well, at least make sure that the price is an amount youre willing to risk. Do numbers 1 to 5 on this list before bidding or buying.

If you do, chances are, you wont even need the added protection, but do stick to the safe, tried-and-tested payment methods as much as possible or until you become a more experienced eBay shopper.
